Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about our glasses, lenses, pricing, and how ordering works.

How much do prescription glasses cost at West Coast Vision?

A complete pair — frame plus prescription lenses — starts at $95 with single-vision lenses. Thinner premium lenses are $175, progressive (no-line multifocal) lenses are $250, and two complete progressive pairs are $380 as a bundle. Every price is for the finished pair, not just the frame.

Do the prices include anti-glare and blue-light coatings?

Yes. Every pair includes scratch-resistant, anti-reflective (anti-glare), and blue-light coatings at no extra cost. Most retailers sell these as add-ons; here they’re standard on every lens package.

Can I add Transitions or polarized sun lenses?

Yes — each lens package has optional add-ons: Transitions® light-adaptive lenses (darken outdoors, clear indoors) for $75, and polarized sun lenses for $75. Pick them right on the product page when you choose your lenses.

Are there durable lenses for construction and trade work?

Yes. Extra-strength durable lenses are an $85 add-on — impact-tough lenses built for people who work hard in demanding environments like construction, contracting, and other hands-on jobs.

How do I send my prescription?

Order first, send your prescription after — no paperwork at checkout. Right after you order you’ll get a link (on the confirmation page and by email) to type or photograph your prescription and PD (pupillary distance). Your doctor can give you your PD, or a free phone app can measure it.

What’s the cheapest way to get progressive lenses online?

A complete progressive pair at West Coast Vision is $250 including the frame and all standard coatings. If you and a partner both wear progressives — or you want a backup pair — the two-pair bundle at $380 works out to $190 per complete progressive pair.

Who is behind West Coast Vision?

West Coast Vision was started by licensed opticians and spectacle makers who watched the industry overcharge patients for years — including their own parents paying around $1,000 for a single pair without coverage. We sell direct so a finished, coated, prescription pair costs $95, not $400+.
